How long for ombudsman to be allocated on average after business disagree with adjudicator decision?

Options
(Sorry it’s not the correct place to post but I couldn’t find an financial ombudsman service forum)

A capital One credit card was fraudulently opened using my details and they refused to accept my claim of fraud so I taken it to the financial ombudsman service. The adjudicator upheld my complaint that Capital One acted unfairly in not closing down the account however Capital One disagreed and asked for an ombudsman to make a final decision. Based on people’s experiences using the financial ombudsman, how long on average could it take for my complaint to be allocated to an ombudsman? Also how likely is it for the ombudsman to uphold my complaint considering the adjudicator upheld it? I’ve heard they generally agree with the adjudicator though not always.
I will appreciate any opinions or comments.
thanks
Kieran

  • Sorry but this is a "how long is a bit of string" question - all depends on how many cases they get, how complex they are and so on. From memory only around 1/10 cases are overruled but on that basis, the bank must feel they have a strong case or that the adjudicator made a major mistake
