Hi,
I have a car which was leased from an English company - Alphabet.
It's on the original UK/GB plates and the leasing company are asking for an MOT because it is now turning 3 years old.
I've tried explaining to them that MOT's in NI are not due until year 4, but nobody seems to have a clue at the lease company or the DVLNI.
They maintain the plates are GB so it's year 3.
I've even been told i may have to bring it to England to get the test (!!??)
I've never had to get an MOT on any previous lease deals form UK companies at year 3.
Has anyone some knowledge on this they can share please?

Where is the car taxed? If in the UK then it needs an MOT as DVLA will not tax the vehicle withut an MOT certificate no matter where you are driving it.There is nothing prventing an MOT being carried out on a car before its *first due date* Motability at one time were asking us to do MOTs on cars 30 months old.1

What address is the vehicle registered at? That decides the MOT requirement.0

Can I be a pendant, and point out that NI is in the UK.
What you may have is a GB registered car, being used in NI - which location is the car registered in.2 -

Probably because the vehicles were supplied by a NI Dealer and registered in MI - Little surprised a mainland lease company did not use an NI Dealer
