Groovy LVT flooring.

Argh, the hunt goes on.
MIL is fixated on the flooring planks having a well-defined plank groove/bevel/T&G line. The only one that she's seen that is nicely different in this respect is Quickstep's Picnic Oak Warm Natural Vinyl - Pulse Glue Plus PUGP40094
That would be fine, except the actual flooring itself - in reality - is a bit light and bland, not as 'warm' as it appears in the photos.
Anyone seen a LVT flooring that's well-groovy?
Thanks.

I don't think you're going to get well groovy LVT.   It's a thin product!  It would go into a point, which isn't great for potential damage before it makes it to the floor.

Thanks. Yes, I get that. But the majority of bevels are soooo small, they are barely noticeable.
I guess there's a sensible reason too - it would fill with dirt...
The Picnic Oak we saw was actually the flooring used in the showroom itself, and had a proper T&G-type groove. MIL can't accept anything less now...

That's exactly what I'm saying.  It's never going to be thick enough to have a decent bevel.  My Amtico seems to have a clear layer over the colour so there's an absolute limit to what can be achieved, but it's a clear bevel as far as I'm concerned, looking at it now.  The smaller parquet tiles probably emphasise it far more than something nearly a metre long.

If she loves the picnic oak in the showroom, why is she not having it?

We'll borrow their large sample board to look at at home, so that will help.
    Thanks.

What colour light are you viewing the samples in? A warm white can make timber flooring look richer in colour, cool white can bleach it slightly.

Good point, CG. The showroom, as I recall, was mainly lit by daylight, but obviously with internal lighting on too.
We hope to borrow a couple of their large sample boards to look at at home - each has a few planks on it, so should give a good idea of the overall appearance.

We had a very similar quickstep lvt flooring laid about 2 years ago and to be honest I’m not impressed with how it’s lasted. We do have two kids and a dog now so it’s high usage but it’s scratched really easy. It’s probably only got another couple of years so say 5 years In total before I rip it out and put a new floor in.

    That's worrying, Stuey!
I have Quickstep, Harmony and pretty much all the alternatives down as all being durable, provided they have a 0.55mm or greater protective layer. Do you recall if yours is this, or perhaps thinner?
    Thanks.

I think it was the quickstep Creo range we had. It was the last decision in a huge house renovation and by that point I was all decisioned out and went for the suggestion by the builder. I should have gone for a porcelain floor as it would have suited me better but I can understand the appeal of lvt as it does look good.

just to add to this, we have the floor in a number of downstairs rooms and in most cases it’s great. The issue we found is in the kitchen/dining room. If people aren’t careful which moving chairs around it’s quite easy to get big noticeable scratches. So it’s probably are own fault and the kids not being careful

    Och...well...
MIL despairing as the floor she'd chosen - Quickstep's Picnic Oak - looks really bland when we took a large sample board home.
Then, after a nice sunny (completely clear blue skies) walk around the woods above Weare Giffard (no relevance at all to the thread, but just to make folk jealous), we popped into a flooring shop on t'way home.
Oh...ma...gawd! Amtico Form Carved Oak. Lovely tone, and incredible texture.

    I'm now MIL's best son-in-law, official.

    (And her only one).
