BT Home Essentials Credit Check

Hi
I'm looking into getting the BT Home Essentials broadband package, due to poor WIFI in my flat (thick walls)
The terms state I may need to pay a security deposit due to poor credit. Does anyone know how much that might be? I'm on UC, so would be eligible
It would be handy to know if it's worth pursuing before I approach my landlord

The credit check should be no problem, I have friends who have signed up for it whos have dire credit histories and havent been asked to pay a security deposit, and are all on benefits too.0

Just to add... I was looking at this option last night which is for people on some benefits. Their 2 essential package options that include broadband also include (some) landline calls making it reasonable for £15 moderate speeds and £20 for good speed or quite attractive if you do use landline rather than a mobile calls inclusive package otherwise. I would say it might be an option for many including those with poor credit histories but if you don't really use landline or if you need good speeds for broadband then there may be better options on the market (when considered with cashback or other joining bonuses for new customers - check comparison sites and topcashback) as BT is inherently expensive to start with. One bonus of what BT offers is no early exit fees with these essential packages but you do seem to need to pay £9.99 up front for router etc. Virgin Media also currently offering a basics package but very slow speed.
