Looks like Credit Style Ltd (of which CST LAW is a trading style, I believe) are also CSA members:

You should read the CSA rules/Code of Practice that members must abide by.  I suspect this breaches CSA rules.  I seem to recall there is/was a rule in the CSA (might be the FCA) code that says that debt collectors must not threaten court when they have no intention of following through on it, which clearly they can't file a County Court claim because you live in Scotland.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They have added what appears to be an extra unlawful amount for debt collection.

This amounts to double recovery and Judges all over the country are dismissing these spurious additions. Indeed some judges have dismissed entire claims because of this. Read this and complain to Trading Standards and your MP,

    Excel v Wilkinson

At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims.   That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued.  The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'.   This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015.   DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.

However, VCS appealed this so it may not apply in all cases, read this

Also consider complaining to The SRA about the solicitor, if one is involved They are fully aware of the unlawful nature of most of thse additions yet persist in adding them..

Thank you all for the further responses and information.

Again just for my piece of mind and what to expect.  If I get a response from the DPO to my SAR do I need to do anything or is this just simply for my information and records only?

    thanks

Make certain you complain to the SRA about CST (CREDIT STYLE) ....

    THEY ARE PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION
1: DRP have nothing to do with this
2: The claim of £160 for a parking ticket is false
  • Hello,

I have received the below letter from CST and am unsure how to proceed. I received a parking ticket last August and never paid, i continuously have received letters from DRP and haven’t responded to any. I have now received this debt reminder from CST and unsure if i can still ignore or if action should now be taken?

    any help much appreciated!

It's quite apt that they quote Beavis, because whoever thinks that letter has any legal weight in Scotland is a Butthead.
