Hi all
we have my wife’s 40th birthday booked to depart in April we are going to Bangkok, koh samui and then back to Dubai before travelling home. I’m looking at world wide insurance. My bank offers one through its reward account which would work out cheaper and covers for covid.
my questions are
does anyone have any knowledge of what happens in situation if we arrived in Bangkok and found out one do parties has covid 19 - I know we will be taken to hotel for quarantine but who pays for this ? I.e can I claim the cost for quarantine and then claim cost of losing my original booking through insurance I.e if I’m in quarantine for 7/10 days due to covid can I claim. For lost days in hotel ?
thanks
martin

That would very much depend on the t&c of your specific insurance. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Read the small print carefully. More extensive cover is likely to come at a cost. Which is hardly a surprise. Given the uncertainty that lies ahead.0

Look on Thai embassy website. You will find all information there, but as for insurance you will need $50000 us dollars cover for covid, however, this is available from Axa Thailand (and other Thai insurers) for around 1000 (£22) THB per month. My family live in Bangkok, they visited us at Christmas, When they went home they were met at the airport by a hotel taxi, taken to a hospital and given a PCR test then taken to a hotel to wait for their test result which they received within 24 hours, they were then free to carry on with their lives. All this must be pre-booked and applies to fully vaccinated travellers only.0
