Sole to joint tenancy help

*please if you can’t say anything helpful then please don’t comment on this post*
Genuine help needed please!
I am an assured tenant with a local housing association with a sole tenancy.
I met my now husband 4 years ago and he moved in with me in the middle of 2021 (we was not married then), we rang to notify the housing who said it was fine, he’s also on all the bills including council tax.
We got married recently, before we married I rang the housing and asked about a joint tenancy, they said once your married just email your marriage certificate to the tenancy team and they gave me the email address.
I have done this and they sent me a form to fill out, on this form it states he also has to be entitled to social housing in his own right and he is as a uk citizen, lived in the area all his life, doesn’t own any property etc, except I think financially he would probably earn too much to qualify for social housing, he has a good full time job and I only work part time due to my child who is in primary school. My questions are…..
1. Does anyone know what the criteria is regarding earnings for social housing ie. what’s the limit you can earn up too?
2. If we apply and he gets knocked back can they terminate my assured tenancy (had it for 10 years) due to his earnings?
(he doesn’t earn £50,000 or anything like that but he’s not on a low income either).
My reasoning for wanting him on the tenancy is incase anything happens to me, I want to make sure my children and husband still have their home without any worry, my partner is in his 50’s and we have no savings so we are not interested in RTB before any nasty comments start.
Thank you in advance for any helpful inform, I’m just a very concerned wife/mother. I’ve even looked looked into succession incase he can’t go on the tenancy and hope that’s an Avenue for them if it’s ever needed, I probably sound very morbid but it’s been on my mind for a long time now and I just wanted something in place so I don’t have to think it worry about it.
