I bought the pre flight, 2 day and day 8 PCR test for a holiday I was meant to travel on to France in September. Due to their change before I was due to travel, I was unable to go due to not being vaccinated.
Are the PCR tests limited to that one holiday as I had to put in the flight details i.e date and time etc for arriving there and home or can I possibly use them for another holiday int he future?
My partner was refunded his £20 lateral flow right away (vaccinated) but I have had zero responses to my communications requesting my refund (over £100)

Anyone had to deal with this?

It will depend on the provider and their T&C’s .

A few providers ; ( e.g CTM ) allow you to cancel for a refund if your plans change  ( provided this is done before the tests have been dispatched)

Most will not refund after tests have been delivered .

Some will allow you to use the tests for a future trip .

I received the tests on the Tuesday and then the Thursday the restrictions were brought in. I bought the unvaccinated test kit so they will be aware that I couldnt travel and have therefore not opened them.
I got them from Randex or whoever they are and continue to have no response when I contact them

So have you looked at the ts and cs?
    • Did you cancel within 14 days of ordering the kits ?
    • Did you follow their refund process ?
4.2 If you wish to obtain a refund, you should send the following contact form by email to covidcustomersupport@randox.com.
To Randox Health London Ltd. 5 Finsbury House, 23 Finsbury Circus, London, EC2M 7EA, I/We* hereby give notice that I/We* cancel my/our* contract for the supply of the following service:
    Order number:
    Ordered on: [DD/MM/YYYY]
    Name:
    Address:
    Date: [DD/MM/YYYY]

I think that Randox recently changed their T&Cs after pressure , their current
    T&Cs state :
4.1 Where Randox has begun to supply the service, the amount of the refund may be reduced to account for the value of services already supplied to you up to the point of cancellation. This amount is calculated by comparing the value of the services already supplied to you to the total paid for the service contract.

If you did both of the above , then according to their current T&Cs you will be entitled to a partial refund. I am not sure if this applies retrospectively if the T&Cs were different in September .However, it is worth challenging. If you have had no reply from Randox, since September, you can contact your bank for a chargeback , providing you met the criteria above .

If you haven't used the tests then you can use them again for another trip that demands PCR tests. Doesn't matter that you have used the code, you haven't travelled so they are still valid. At the moment PCR tests are not used in the UK but some other countries - UAE for example - require them as Fit to Fly tests. A PCR test is a PCR test and they are all interchangeable, despite them saying Day 2/Day 8/Fit to Fly.

Agreed. Keep them for a future occasion. Though day2 tests are unique as you are paying for sequencing if positive and communicating the results on to gov organisations, so they aren’t interchangeable
