Anyone heard of Lawdata Ltd??
Hi
Maybe its just me being overly suspicious, but I received a letter a couple of days ago from the above company. It is asking for details of a vehicle which I sold at auction over 18 months ago. At the time , I sold it with log book, service history etc, and then this letter has just come saying that they are acting on behalf of a trade buyer who has bought the vehicle and wants to know details such as who i bought and sold the vehicle to , and what the mileage was , etc. Now, I just don't know why a buyer would be that bothered to pay a company to trace me and get this info - the car will be worth £2k at the most by now. Its also asking me to sign to say the details I gove are definately correct .Not sure what I would lose by replying but it just "feels" dodgy. Have googled them and their site just looks cheap and nasty. Anyone heard of them or know if they are legit? Cheers.

They are one of a band of mileage verification companies that ask you this info to protect their clients (the stealers) from prosecution for selling clocked cars etc. It's up to you if you want to volunteer the info. The man without a signature.0

Say it's got 567,000 miles on it and was a write off :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

I'm with TSAly, if you provide them with a service (for them to make a profit), then they must pay you a fee.
Ask them what the deal is.0 -
Yep, I had one of those letters a few years ago, I wrote back saying I was happy to give the information on receipt of my £35 fee, I never heard from them again.:sad:0
