Pending Claim against Named Driver
My motor insurance policy is up for renewal later this month. My spouse is a named driver. Last week in her own car she reversed out of a car parking space and damaged another unoccupied parked vehicle. We notified our insurance. There was insignificant damage to our car but the third parties car was damaged and he will be making a claim against us.
When completing my renewal I assume I have to disclose this as it does ask the 5 year question about the named driver. The only options I have are 'Date of accident' 'Was anyone injured' 'Has the claim being settled'.
The claim has not been settled and I would think be a few £100 at most. I renew my insurance via Quidco. Could anyone confirm how to proceed

You definitely have to notify the pending claim, especially as they are aware of it.1

If going through Quidco compare then if you click through to buy a policy, make sure that you check all the entered details of this pending claim have been transferred correctly to your new insurance Co online system before you buy it.
It may have been confused.com rather than Quidco but I once had dates of birth and the amount of years driving transfer incorrectly when I clicked through to buy. I spotted and was able to change on the insurance Co web site without it affecting the premium but im always wary now and check whats been transferred from the comparison site.

Just to be clear ... the pending claim against the named driver's own insurance policy needs to be declared when someone else is renewing their entirely separate insurance policy, simply because the driver is named on this separate policy and has had an incident elsewhere?
(I believe that this is correct, just want this to be clear).Jenni x1 -

In fact most ask for claims or incidents, though most people "forget" to mention incidents where no claim is being made.
This is a common problem for people who add remote people to their policies, they renew blindly unaware that their uncle whos on their policy as a named driver had a fault RTA which they claimed for off their own policy and a subsequent CUE check or such throws up the non-disclosure at a later date.1 -
I declared the incident on my policy which is up for renewal(in respect of my spouse). Unfortunately premium rose by 12%0
