Looking for the cheapest Marmite now it is in short supply!
I found the yeast extract Sainsburys make for £2 for 225g.
Anyone know if Lidl or Aldo have any? Or Asda to save me trying them all.

No shortage around here. Maybe buy online. Vegemite is better (if you prefer the best anyway)!

Ooooh, no, I cannot agree with Carrot007 about Vegemite, I'm afraid! (Sorry Carrot). It's much more bitter, crumbly and salty than Marmite. I lived in Australia for a few years some time ago when Marmite was not available over there (my Oz friends tell me it is now, thank goodness) and Vegemite was the only thing on offer. I had to give it up for a while.
Last time there was a short-lived shortage here, we managed to get Marmite from amazon. I'm about to order some from Sainos for our grocery delivery this week, fingers crossed! Cost is not a barrier for us when it comes to Marmite. I just cannot cope without my daily fix . . . oh dear.
I never ever find own-brand varieties of Marmite to be a patch on the real thing. But then that's just me. Obviously a connoisseur of the old marms! P.S. couldn't you Google other supermarkets, see if it's in or out of stock? Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. This thread is gross and disgusting. It should be closed down owing to its offensive nature.
(Can you tell I hate Marmite?)
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -

Try: Morrisons Yeast Extract 240g/£2.00 or ALDI "Grandessa" Mighty Yeast Extract 240g/£1.69

Big marmite fan here, Vegemite NO. The only alternative I'll accept is Sainsbury low salt yeast extract, very good."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Making me crave cheese and marmite "hot cross" buns from M&S now, available all year now, just saying......"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Never see normal Marmite on offer. Why? Sometimes I have seen 50p off the Dynamite Marmite. Got two jars when I went to Sainsburys and the store was discontinuing it - as down to £1.20.
Dynamite Marmite is best served such as beans on toast, cheese on toast - don't think im in the mood for chili stuff for breakfast.1
