Decreasing credit peoples energy

Hello, since peoples energy went bust I screen shot my credit which was over £200. It then dropped to £140 next time I checked, then again to £97 and I’ve checked again today and it’s £14!! This has happened since my switch to British Gas. It’s seems every month I check it decreases. Anyone else had this problem ? BG can’t even tell me when they are expecting my credit ….. if there is any left. Also I don’t even know who to contact to ask why it’s decreasing.

    Since they went bust have you used any gas or electricity?, if so that might explain why your credit is dropping.  The administrators of Peoples Energy are probably estimating usage and taking it from your credit balance until a final bill is produced.

    Seems unlikely, although People’s Energy may have had a computer program that estimated your usage between meter readings and this might still be running unattended.
    People’s Energy (Supply) Limited ceased supply of energy from 19 September 2021.
    Following completion of the Ofgem regulatory process, on 24 September 2021, Jonny Marston, Rob Croxen and Paul Berkovi of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP were appointed as Joint Administrators to the Companies.

    How do you know People's Energy are taking your credit? Have they sent you a bill or a statement?
    From what you've written here, you've seen your balance online dropping but that doesn't mean anything.
    If it worries you, stop looking at your account and wait until you get a closing bill from People's Energy.

  • When PG ceased trading I had £500+credit, between them ceasing and BG taking over supply that credit has dropped to £270. My issue is the total lack of contact, PG have no cust service or info on their website and the BG site closes down every time I click on the link about switching. I'd be grateful for ANY info or update anyone has on how to progress credit transfers or the expected timing.
