Hi all
When I now plug my HDMI cable in to my laptop, to watch stuff on telly, the laptop screen goes black, but I can see everything on the telly.
It didn't used to do this, so any ideas what's happening ?
Thanks for looking in.

I'd guess your display settings have changed. Right-click anywhere on your desktop background and choose "Display settings".
Scroll down to where it says "Multiple displays" and choose "duplicate these displays" from the drop-down menu. You might have to have it plugged in to the tv to be able to change this (I can't remember off hand), but once you've done it the setting should hold next time you plug in
Most laptops have a function hotkey to change the way it displays, so the setting could easily have been changed accidentally or an update might have done something.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

That might be tricky if the laptop screen is black and so is the TV! If so, and if you're using Windows, hold the windows flag key down and press p - hopefully a panel will pop up letting you choose whether to extend (different stuff on each screen), mirror (same on each) or have just the laptop or just the TV screen showing.
