Rightmove and Prime Location (Zoopla) are the two biggest property websites- or by 'forum' do you literally mean a place to discuss housing? Like here?

I think you have answered your own question :#
  • If you've got a specific location in mind, join the local Facebook group. That's how I hear about new developments (not that I'm interested per se) but as soon as planning permission for any new development in the area is submitted, it's posted and discussed, usually with horror, on the local FB group. Other than that, set up alerts on Rightmove for the areas/ criteria you are interested in.

What you wont get from here is the ability to search for houses, you will get experience on how to search, what to look out for and what not to do etc.

To find developments use a search engine to search for 'new builds in ......' and you will find ones in progress now. Or drive around the area and find them, most are advertised with a big board showing the developers name from an early stage.

You could try searching for the big developers names and search their sites. To find out these names try 'house builders uk' this would bring up the main ones.

Rightmove and Zoopla for houses for sale.

Any questions can ask on here for advice.
