greent I hope you managed to get all that out of the freezer - it would make quite a dent. One thing that has struck me this month is how little space individual things take up. I've bought no meat all month and eaten out of the freezer, but every shelf is still full. It's great for saving money on the food bill but I think it will take a long time to get the freezer down to sensible levels. I haven't even thought about what that would be but I have a long time to think about it. One big win this month is that I haven't indulged myself in my usual ys activity, which is what has got me into this situation in the first place. Apart from a massive cheese which I absolutely couldn't leave I don't think I've bought anything ys, so at least nothing much has gone in.
One chicken breast and half a bag of spinach out today to go in a curry.6 -

Like @oceandreamer , I'm having chicken curry and spinach today. I think that uses up a piece of ginger and some curry paste, but will probably mean extra portions in the fridge. We also had to buy yogurt to go with it so there's that to finish.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I did - so out of the freezers came a chicken, a pack of sliced beef, *2* packs of pigs in blankets, 1 large Xmas tree shaped Yorkshire, 9 smaller yorkshires, cranberry sauce, red cabbage, breadcrumbs and 4 sausages. Happy enough with that 😁 Also used a whole bag each of the 5p potatoes, parsnips carrots and 2/3 bag of 5p sprouts. Not too much left after dinner - am sending DD home with the few leftover roasties and 2 slices of beef and there's enough chicken and stuffing left for DS3 and DH ro have a sandwich each for lunch.oceandreamer said:greent I hope you managed to get all that out of the freezer - it would make quite a dent. Didn't do any pudding as such - opened up a tub of Celebrations and a box of After Eights bought for Xmas and not eaten - so also counts as a win 😁I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £20

Wow! I don't know when I last had an empty shelf!
Half a pack of chicken liver has gone into ours today but we've finished some bacon and DH has the last of the stollen to take for lunch tomorrow.

A bag of diced turkey breast (from the xmas turkey) out to make a curry. Changeyourlife25 I can't imagine an empty freezer shelf but also I don't think I could trust myself not to immediately fill it!
