I'm another who uses resealable bags. I freeze flat and then just stack although it's a bit of pain trying to find the right bag sometimes! I also just freeze in portions for 2 but it's easy enough to take out 2 or more packs if we need more portions.

I freeze in resealable bags - flatten them as much as you can, get all the air out & write on the top above the seal. Freeze, then 'file' them stood up so you can flick through & easily find the chilli or stewed rhubarb 😉2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I suppose I should get on and use up some of the paper I have stashed in the freezer. Need to go for a rummage in there as I think there are a couple of tubs of metol somewhere in the bottom.

Using up one of my butternut squashes to make a squash and chickpea curry. Just need to make some curry powder first before I can do that though!

Hello, may I join in please? I've just read the whole thread and noted a couple of useful ideas and I have lots of bits and pieces to use up:
Freezer - frozen fruit especially blackberries, frozen veg especially an excess of mushrooms and spiced pumpkin... etc.
Fridge: assorted things in jars, carrots, garlic... etc.
Cupboards: nuts, packet mixes, jellies, sauces that don't need refrigeration, herbs and spices...etc.
Larder shelves: flours, dried fruits, dried beans... etc.
And that mystic category, 'everything else', including a pumpkin and a butternut squash.
There are two of us: DH eats the same sorts of things most of the time and I'm the culprit who brings in 'interesting' things then doesn't have a plan to use them.
The score so far today: Out - 1 portion veg soup In - 0.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I made the curry yesterday and portioned it up. 2 x 2 portions into the freezer and 2 portions into the fridge for tomorrow night's dinner.
Tonight's dinner is a mince & veg thing layered with aubergine and then topped with sliced potatoes like a hotpot! There should be at least 4 portions so hopefully 2 portions will make it to the freezer tomorrow!
The aubergines were in a Too Good to Go bag and were desperately needing to be used which is why we didn't end up with the curry for dinner tonight! It also used up a wrinkly pepper!

When I made my from-memory rough inventory, I completely forgot the coffee cupboard! This is a serious error as I have so much coffee - people give it me as gifts and I generally only have one lot of caffeine a day. Very often that's quick and easy cappuccino sachets rather than very slightly more time-consuming cafetiere coffee. There's a whole shelf of 'proper' coffee waiting its turn. There are also a jar and some sachets of decaff and about five boxes of flavoured green tea and fruit teas. The only progress made recently was finishing a jar of instant and not replacing it.
Not much eaten up today apart from HM guacamole: DH has bought southern friend chicken for tomorrow tea and I bought a huge pack of chocolate brioches thinking DH would like them but he's a bit wary because they aren't croissants. I've also bought in a quiche which was lunch today and tomorrow and probably a couple of lunches next week too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
