How to open combo padlock, without the code?

I've just set my padlock, but the combination code doesn't work. How do I reset the code?

Lock make and model:
Master 7640EURD

Any ideas on how I can get the lock open, without resorting to bolt cutters?

Turn the padlock so that it is wedged against the hasp then give it a good hard wack with a hammer.

it’ll either spring open or break.

This advice is bought to you so that you understand cheap padlocks are next to useless.

Lots of videos on youtube which won't mean resorting to hammers or bolt cutters.

As there are only 4 digits work your way through by starting at 0000, increment by one each time ie 0001, 0002,0003 etc.  Eventually padlock will open.  Does take time but I have done this on a couple of occasions.

Pull hard on the shackle whilst turning the combination dials, starting with the one at the bottom of the lock. You should feel a difference in the click as the correct digit comes into place.

Or watch the dials closely whilst pulling on the shackle as above. Each dial will move sideways slightly until the correct number is in place.

As chrisw says.  If the first dial doesn't seem to click into place on one number, try each of the other dials in turn until one of them does.  Repeat with the remaining dials.

Years ago, my brother had a 4 digit bike lock.  After a bit of practice, I could open it in the dark by feel only.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
