Hi
I was hoping to allow my OH to drive my leased car (under my supervision) and wondered if this is even possible and what kind of costs I might expect to pay?
She has only a provisional license and 4 driving lessons under her belt.
Many thanks

Do the T&C's of the lease allow it? A quick Google suggests some companies allow it and some don't.0

It could be cheaper to get a stand-alone policy, pay as you go. A few years ago, I insured my daughter, I had to tell the website which hours/days she was driving.

It is still up to the Lease company. Ask them, we can only give our own opinions.

When you ask them, don't ask about an "unlicenced driver" (as per your header in this thread). Instead ask about a "provisional licence holder".
It's an important difference!4 -

The lease company may have stipulations that the car isn't used for stuff like driving lessons, taxi and courier services, so even if insured they may not be happy about it. Though they'd likely only find out if you crashed during a lesson.

Adding the Mrs with per provisional license and factoring in she'd been in the UK for 10 years at the time (another rating increase) added the grand total of £4 to our car (even though it was a 2 seater with over 400 BHP)... I'm sure if it had been a more sensible car it'd have actually reduced the premiums.0
