What is the value of the laptop and how much damage are we talking? Is it still useable?

Some years ago I had an art collection worth around £60,000 belonging to my son when he moved to the USA. Had it around 6 months until he found a permanent place to live and it was trhen shipped over there. My own insurance premium would have been sky high if it was on my policy. It was insured as a seperate item.He moved back to the UK last year and the insurance premium for his effects for shipping were around £4,000 - containers do fall off ships. As I recall home contents do have a requirement for high value items and Cycles are excluded - I know when I was doing/coaching outdoor pursuits my gear was not coverred under my home policy/0

I find it more cost effective to be careful rather than pay out for insurance every year to cover not being careful.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1
