Hi
Looking for any advise
We moved into a new house in november, we signed up with SSE & Ovo but when we try to log in it says accounts are on there way and to allow 21 days
We signed up at £90 per month
We decided to give them till after new year to get our accounts sorted and our email said we didnt need to do anything
We have now just recieved a bill from Bulb (previous tennant used them) for £141.46 for a months energy
Ive tried to call sse for advice but there closed for bank holidays
Has anyone any advise if we should pay this or what our next steps should be

Hi,when you move in you are automatically with previous supplier. You should've contacted them gave meter readings, then initiated a switch.

I think you missed out the first stage in moving house - you must contact the existing supplier (ie Bulb) and you are their customer until you switch (to SSE/OVO)
Do the meter readings tie in with what you read on the day you moved in - and with what you gave to SSE/OVO when you "signed" up ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
It looks like your transfer hasn’t gone through, could have been blocked by bulb if you didn’t tell them you had taken over the supply when you moved in. Even if you change suppliers, you still need to pay a bill to the original supplier until you change & should register with them. Is the bulb bill in your name or just say owner/occupier?0

Hi,maybe too late this time, here is what Citizens Advice, say on moving home.0

You may accidentally have done yourself a favour because you are now on Bulb's capped Standard Variable Tariff, which will be the cheapest you can get. If your SSE & Ovo tariffs were fixed they might have been more expensive.Just send your name, address, date of taking possession, opening meter readings and bank DD info to Bulb, notify SSE and Ovo and cancel their DDs.1
