Aviva Critical Illness Claim

Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience with current wait times with Aviva for critical illness claims?
Does anyone have any experience with current wait times with Aviva for critical illness claims?
It’s been nearly 6 weeks and not sure whether to phone them to enquire or if there’s just a long wait with Christmas and covid etc.
I’ve not had any response about if they’re waiting on hospital or anything for notes, I sent through all the info I had (consultant and GP notes, diagnosis letter and all consultant details).
Has anyone made/had a claim paid out recently?

Has anyone made/had a claim paid out recently?
If it helps I put in my claim for stage 1b malignant melanoma which I was told on the phone was covered but of course depends on specifics of my illness
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

Not with Aviva, but when I made a claim in mid 2019 it took 3 months for the payment to be agreed and made.
The insurance company name escapes me at the moment but I understand in normal times 3 months is average.
Good luck with both the claim and your illnessMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Aviva originals (ex NU) tend to be quicker in my experience than Aviva (ex AXA) or Aviva (ex FP). But more often than not, its not Aviva that drag their heels but your GP and/or consultant. And coronavirus has really slowed up responses from them.
The 3 months mentioned is pretty much the ballpark. I have known quicker but wouldn't expect quicker at the moment. I have also known slower.

I'm not a patient person and whilst you are well within the timeframes for it all to be going along normal I personally would probably call to find out where things are at the moment in the hope that my ability to chase the consultant/GP may be a bit better than the insurance company's0 -
Delays likey from getting report from GP/ Specialist and then the insurer processing it. Can take 1 month from GP to get said report, understandably not on their top of the list things, private report."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Thanks all for the help, Aviva have said they are waiting for the GP report and the GP said it was sent to Aviva December 13th …
I wait with bated breath. 🙃0
