What should I change to from BGas Energy plus Jan22 V6?

Hi everyone, Happy New Year ...I've not used this forum before so hope I'm doing it right . Our fixed tariff is coming to and at the end of this month and a letter from British Gas advises unless we switch now it will default to Standard Variable Tariff but the alternative Exclusive Energy Jul 2023 V2 is (if I'm reading the letter correctly) £1100 more than we currently pay plus £75 per fuel to switch to another supplier before then 
what should we do ? Is the general consensus to do nothing and wait until July?

Do nothing and wait until just before the cap is reset bu Ofgem in April. The SVT is the cheapest rate you'll get from any supplier.

Start looking here, from early March, to see what is announced. It is anybody's guess, at the moment, because the government may make some intervention to try to increase their popularity, which would upset the way Ofgem normally make their calculations.
