Contents Insurance - living in a house in my parents' names

Hello all,
We're currently living in a house that's owned by my parents in their name. We live here fully rent-free. Some of their own furniture & art is in this house. I'm looking to take out contents insurance to cover our own contents. I'm not sure how to answer the question "Do you own or rent this property"? If I select "rent", it asks "privately?" - but this doesn't describe our situation? What should I select?
Many thanks for advice in advance!
Regards - Piers

You are not the homeowner so I would select Rent. I would contact the potential insurer to explain the situation before finalising any policy. If you are looking at a comparison site, they won't generally have options outside the normal ones.

Is there a reason you can’t go on your parents policy?0

OP should be careful with this. Often the policy will only cover the policyholder's contents + family members living permanently with them. The way that many policies are worded, will not cover the 'tenants' even though they are family members. Devil is in the detail in the policy
