I think I'd buy Premium Bonds for the moment and let it sit until somehting better turns up. Given the state of the world at the present and all sorts of forecasts about recessions / inflation at least in PB it is safe with the chance of a few winnings and maybe the awful dilema of what to do with a million quid

Premium Bond pay out is calculated at 1.0% and that seems like a very good home for some of my cash which is currently attracting 0% interest.
