Moving Heating controller

Hi all, I need to move the controller for my boiler due to a new kitchen cabinet. Is there any rules, limitations etc with moving it please. Eg can it be moved under the boiler for instance or further up and the wiring extended?
Thank you.

The controller does not need to be next to the boiler - Mine is under the stairs over 5m away from the boiler (part of a smart home control system). As long as it is over 300mm from a sink, not over a hob, or at ceiling/floor level, it can go anywhere. Personally, I would avoid having it directly under a boiler just in case the latter started to leak (either from a fault or ham fisted service). It does need to be reasonably close to the fused switch, and you will need to run extended cabling to the wiring centre (if there is one) - Both will require some drilling & chasing for back boxes and conduit.Do you have any spare tiles to match the existing ones on the wall ?Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

If possible have it swapped for a wireless system.
Te receiver can sit under the boiler, the wireless controls can be moved around, or hung on any wall.0 -

When we replaced the boiler we swapped out a controller almost identical to yours for a wireless system - there is the little sender unit right beside our boiler and the wireless controller (essentially a wireless version of what you have on the wall) just sits anywhere in the living room.
If you are going to go to the trouble of getting someone in to rewire your existing one then I would definitely investigate the option of a wireless system.
Note its not a smart internet wireless Nest I am talking about but a simple wireless digital controller.
Hope this helps
