When would be the best to renew my car insurance ?

My car insurance runs out Jan 24th, when would be the best to renew ? The cheapest is £554 currently UGH.

    ..Martin normally recommends about 3 weeks before it is due is the best time to get quotes...
    (I did this recently and used them to get £100+ off my quoted renewal premium from my existing provider)...
    .."It's everybody's fault but mine...."

    The point was that “renew” means paying for another year of your existing policy, whereas taking out a different policy is not the same.
    renewal I’d leave until the last minute but I don’t think that’s what you meant.
    searching for quotes is 3 weeks which is about now.

    have you checked quidco and topcashback?

    The day before, the insurer doesnt get a chance to give an inflated price.

    Mines due in a few days, had the renewal price 3 weeks ago and comparison sites have sent me
    this years prices based on last years details which is coming in cheaper still.

    I will phone my insurer the day before and either get a better deal or cancel and go elsewhere.
