@twopenny, I've sent little buddleias (the bane of our lives down here) up to Scotland in the post before now & they've survived, with the stems & roots wrapped in soggy kitchen roll. (Not sure they survived the weather for very long after planting out, though!) But yes, cuttings would take a while to grow to any decent size so you're probably best buying a reasonably-sized bush. That said, our Brown Turkey fig, which is a proper tree now & fruits prolifically, I took as a 6" cutting from a friend's garden! Probably about 22 years ago, though - time flies when you're having fun...

I am a cuttings person normally. I used to grow and sell for a while.
I think a lot has to do with our current conditions of being stuck at home and the huge patio doors giving me a daily view.
A watched pot and all that.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
