landline Phoneline ownership

Options
I am trying to track down who supplies my elderly mother in law (who is housebound), with her phone land line.
The line is active and has been in use for many years but recently we thought she had a line fault.
BT have no record of her on their system. I have also tried Talktalk (as that is who we are with) They too have no record.
Openreach need an account number or supplier name before they can investigate any issue.

We have checked though about 18 months worth of bank statements but cannot see any supplier taking payment so cannot work out who supplies her. We have full LPA for both finantial and medical so need to know who supplies her land line for our own records and who to contact if and when she needs to go into a care home or worse.. passes on.
Does anyone know who to contact or how to find out.
Google says dial 150 from her land line but that comes up with a message saying number not available and to contact her supplier......
So Catch22
Need some help please.
Thanks in advance.

You could start a migration (  with the intention of cancelling it , or going through with it ) , you dont need to speak to the losing provider to do this , just approach a ‘new’ provider , ( unless you happen to coincidentally pick the one your relative is already with ) then when the automated ‘sorry to see you leave’ letter turns up , you can then either cancel the migration ( if happy to remain with whoever it turns out to be ) or continue with the transfer , obviously if the letter isn’t responded to in the appropriate time frame the changeover goes through automatically,  and if within a minimum term with the current company , there may be exit charges.
You could also  try dialling 17070 , Sky ( and possibly Now ) used to have an AVR welcoming you the network , some company’s just confirm the telephony number and possibly offer further options  , it may not prove anything , but costs nothing to try.
Openreach provide service to the supplier not the consumer , so it’s no surprise if you contact OR that they advise you to contact the provider , your circumstances are unusual, not knowing who the supplier is.
  • Ooh. not thought of the migration one. May give that one a try.
The M-in-law is now worrying that she will get a hefty bill as no payments have been made to her 'illusive/unknown' supplier for at least 18 months. Probably even longer.

Are you absolutely sure that another kind hearted relation isn't paying the bill?

She will be fine as she will have saved the money she hasn't been paying over that period so will have it available to pay any bill that arrives.
