in Credit cards
Back in 2018 and aware that I didn't have much of a credit history as I'm not a home owner and bought everything cash/up front and outright I wanted to boost my credit score so I applied for and was accepted for a Barclaycard 24 months 0% credit card, the same as the current Top Pick on the MSE article from the end of last month.
I still use the card mainly for shopping and fuel and I pay it off in full every month and always have done. I was perhaps spending a little too much on it as about 3 months back I was told they planned to up my credit limit but then changed their minds so I've since cut down spending on it. I'm not concerned about the prospect of being refused a card, I use the MSE Credit Club and my Experian Credit Score is 999 and has been since I signed up to the Credit Club in 2018 but I what I'm unsure about is whether I can apply for another Barclaycard 24 Months 0% credit card?

As far as I know, you can not apply for a second Barclaycard if you already have one or had one in the last 6 months.2

OK so if I'm looking to make some purchases and would like another 0% spending card I should look at other providers?

Lenders are interested in your credit history, not your credit score - which they never see.
You could apply to another provider - but do a soft search first. Although one hard search shouldn't do a lot of damage to your credit report, given that you keep your finances in order. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I save a large percentage of what I earn, this year I'm aiming to save £20k (there's a thread on the savings and investments board) so a 0% credit card will allow me to hit my monthly savings target and still allow me to buy some costlier items as I can spread the cost.Yesterday evening I applied for and was successful in getting the Sainsbury's 0% Nectar Credit Card although they've only given me 15 months of 0% credit which I'm a little disappointed about. Not that I need it, they've given me an £11k credit limit where as £1500 would of been more than enough. On the upside I suppose I will be using a lower percentage of the credit available to me which I believe is a good thing.

Years ago they allowed you to have a Visa card and MasterCard with them, plus people could end up with multiple accounts when Barclays bought other credit card accounts (I had 4 barclaycard accounts at one point after they bought Frizzel and Egg.)1 -
Someone on this forum has said that Barclaycard policy changes regularly, sometimes allowing 2 credit cards, sometimes just 1.

I just wanted a new 0% credit card to make some purchases on this year. The Barclaycard was the natural choice as it's currently the MSE top pick so wondered if I'd be eligible for a second as an existing customer.I've now successfully applied for a Sainsbury 0% Nectar credit card instead. Thanks for the replies/help.Save 12k in 2022 #33 0/20k0
