Alloy wheel refub
Options
I have a tyre that needs filling every ten days, I'm pretty certain the alloy wheel has become porous as I replaced the tyre and the problem persists so not a puncture. I'm trying to find a place that will do it and so far any local recommendations that I'm getting are for things like chips away but I know it needs to have the tyre come off and they all seem to be just smartening up the finish with the tyre in situ.
Would I be better off simply sourcing a new set of wheels from ebay? - I know they could come with the same problem of course or keep looking for a place that can do it properly- again I am assuming that getting them refurbed will stop the leak too.

Could be the seal between the tyre and the rim. This often corrodes and gives a bad seal.
If its that the solution is to get that area sanded, which would require getting the tyre taken off and the usual of an electric sander.
Theres tyre places would do that for you, no problem.1 -
The inside of the alloy has corroded.
You need an alloy wheel refurb place to take the tyre off and sk im the inside.
I had a wheel doing the same,no probs since it was done.
They should do it for around £25.1 -
On an old car I had that issue.
Had to take of all the tyres and rub down the seals and re spray the wheels.
I then got a tin of tyre seal. It’s a thick black tar like substance.
Works vey well.1 -

Find a proper alloy wheel refurbisher rather than someone who will just spray the wheel.
my local refurbisher took my 4 wheels, took tyre and valves off. Stripped back to bare metal, removed gouges and any buckles and then sprayed to OEM standard, refitted to car the same day for £60 a wheel. Excellent value as it bought them back to new status.1
