About 10 years ago my take home pay was around £15000/year and I was comfortably putting away about a half of it.P.S. Just noticed that nobody mentioned public transport expenses. Back in those days I never took any and walked/cycled wherever I needed to go.0

For a tenant? I think content insurance has to costs much cheaper (if is really worth having at all).Coffeekup said:Home insurance £10-20 a month.£10 - 20 sounds plausible to me. Home insurance pricing is bizarre.Until 2010, I lived in a flat. I used to pay about £120/year to the management company for my share of the buildings insurance. I had a separate policy for my contents, and that cost me about another £120/year, so I was paying about £240/year in total.I now have a 3-bed house, and the combined buildings and contents policy costs me under £100/year.0
