Wickes kitchens...

Hello.
I am looking to get a complete new kitchen and have seen a Wickes Tiverton Style/Range kitchen, in oak, which I like.
They have a sale on at present, until 17th January and I am also going to look at a coup[le of other major retailers and a couple of independents.
Has anyone here got any experience with Wickes kitchens or even the Tiverton range?
Thank you.

Have a look at Benchmarx - Like Wickes, part of the Travis Perkins group, and they do the same kitchens (maybe with a different name). Depending on how hard you push, you may well be able to get it cheaper.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
The shaker-style Tiverton was the nearest I would get to a Wickes kitchen. Unfortunately the green was dubious and I was not 100% with Wickes quality anyway (same for B&Q etc) so I went for a Symphony Ashbourne kitchen in Atlantic Green from Buildbase. Take a look.
I am so grateful that I don't have to give fittings a second thought in 2022. Halleluiah! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

We’ve got a Wickes kitchen. It’s been in 15 years and still looks Ok.
The door below the sink has split along the top edge, but that’s more due to water splashes than quality.
I’d have another one if it was what we wanted - but I’d look at Howdens etc as well.0 -
I eventually got the kitchen I love, no thanks to Wickes whose designer mismeasured, their supply chain who failed to deliver all the items and not on the day they agreed, their useless recommended worktop installers who cut the worktop wrong and had to take it away 😡
My fitter was amazing but the 10-14 day install started in September and was eventually complete in mid January!
Avoid and go elsewhere is my advice!:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
We had the Tiverton (Bone) fitted in May last year and I'm very pleased with it. The designer visited (pre-Covid) to measure and plan. We only have a small kitchen so I needed some help on how to maximise cupboard space.
We didn't have Wickes fit as we needed some other bits done (skimming). We were missing two hinges for a bi-fold corner unit so the fitter put temp. ones on and picked up the proper ones a few weeks later.0 -
Do check out local independent kitchen companies?
I can't comment on Wickes and we have only had two completely new kitchens fitted, 5 years ago and 28 years ago in a different house, so our experience is limited.
However, on both occasions, a local independent was both cheaper and better quality than any of the national chains, DIY stores etc. Both installations went smoothly and quickly with no delays. Both companies were able to get immediate replacements for the very few missing or damaged items.
Our 1993 kitchen was still perfect after 18 years when we sold the house in 2011 and our 2016 kitchen is still perfect now.
Do due diligence on any supplier you look at before you make a decision.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -
