Notice of direct debit payment

  • Thanks for all the comments. It's a pity nobody has managed to give me a link to any information. To answer some of the points:

    (1) It's not a regular monthly payment; it's a permanent subscription and can therefore vary over time
    (2) Yes I'm sure its a direct debit
    (3) No I didn't know when the payment was due. I don't believe they have told me. They didn't when I signed up in October and haven't since.
    (4) Everything else I pay by direct debit manages to send me an email before payment is taken
In response to point four I find that slightly odd, I have just looked at my bank statement and the vast majority of the Direct Debits do not notify me on a monthly basis.

Yes, I'm the same - regular monthly DD's which are for the same amount each  month such as for my heating cover, council tax and magazine subscription just go out. THe only ones I get alerted for monthly are for amounts that vary month by month, such as my credit card bill.

Apart from anything else organising life so a direct debit for a magazine needs a transfer to an account seems an odd way to conduct one's financial affairs

Any magazine subscriptions I have are taken quarterly or 6 monthly.  That information was provided at the time of sign up - I get no other notification.
