That is a stunning photo, @thriftwizard.  I’ve rarely seen a kingfisher, in this country, so you were blessed on your walk.  They seem to be much shyer than their Kookaburra cousins.

I have achieved something today.  Do you remember the jumper I was knitting, which I frogged after trying it on once I’d started the yoke?  Well, I have got back to the armholes on the body.  Only 20 rows - 10 on each side - before I join the sleeves and recommence the yoke.  Sadly, all that knitting doesn’t count in my first goal of knitting 30 balls from stash in 2022, but it gets me closer to making an impact on the yarn mountain. :)

Late to the party with this one but I've decided on 22 things to do for the year 2022.

I'm the 1st to admit that I'm lazy, overweight and boring so I'm hoping to change that this year.  I'd like to lose some weight and boost my confidence in doing things alone.  My list may look silly for some items, but honestly the thought of me going on 22 walks this year is pushing it for me lol.  Some of the things like reading I should be able to do, but I find myself looking on the internet for a stupid amount of time.  The most stupid thing about this is that I actually LOVE reading, so there's really no excuse.

    1. So top of my list is to go on at least 22 walks this year.
    2. Read 52 books.
    3. Lose 22lbs
    4. Save 22 of each coin and note
    5. Make 22 extra payments off my credit card
    6. Save £22 each month
    7. Knit 22 items
    8. De-clutter 22 black bin bags this year
    9. Watch 22 new to me films
    10. Have 22 Phone free evenings
    11. Burn 22 candles (I have way to many Yankee Candles)
    12. Make or bake 22 things from scratch
    13. Listen to 22 CD albums
    14. Use up 22 ites from my toiletry stash
    15. 22 days on my exercise bike per month
    16. 22 garden sessions
    17. Try 22 new things - this may be take myself to the cinema, a night at the local theatre, or treating myself in a local cafe - Things I NEVER have the confidence to do alone.
    18. Make 22 payments to my Christmas tin for special gifts or treats
    19. Sell 22 items online
    20. Donate 22 items to the foodbank/charity shop/ local kindness wall
    21. Research and complete 22 well being sessions
    22. Limit to buying 22 new items of clothing/shoes this entire year
    Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%

Good question @IrishRose12.  Good question.  Here’s how I’m doing at the moment:

    1. Knit 30 balls of yarn from stash.  1/30.  I made a pair of socks.
    2. Do the 2022 Fashion on the Ration challenge and keep within my coupon count.  2/76.  Two pairs of socks purchased from UK Alpaca.
    3. Read 12 books.  I have two on the go at the moment:  Ben Fogel’s “English” and “These Wonderful Rumours” the wartime diary of May Smith (a school teacher).
    4. Continue with my daily Duolingo French.  Now at day 607 and considering increasing the time I spend.
    5. Blog 24 times. Not yet.
    6. Run an official 5k.
    7. Build muscle by weight training 2 days a week.
    8. Run 3 days a week.  I have managed 5 runs this month.
    9. Write that book.
    10. Spend my holidays travelling and seeing places.
    11. Plan and organise a trip home to Oz to see my family.  (This may not occur until 2023 because of work and Australia's COVID restrictions.)
    12. Attend 10 concerts.
    13. Continue saving/investing a third of my salary.  On target.
    14. Get my podcast queue down to a more manageable level.  Currently there are 295 podcasts in the queue.  I’d like to get it down to less than 150.  Err... No.  Still at 295.
    15. Attempt to eat 30 different fruits/veggies/grains each week to improve my gut health. Working on this.  Probably getting 25 a week.  I’m adding mixed seeds to my breakfast cereal every day.
How is everyone else getting on?

I forgot to bookmark this thread and never got back with my list of resolutions! Definitely a shaky start, but I have them in my bullet journal.

I know quite a few are broken but I'm going to allow myself leeway to review and refocus so at the end of the first month my list looks like this:

    1. Clean the goldfish at least once a month - sorry fishy :(
    2. Run at least 1x10K a month - no, but between January weather and being laid low with a virus, it just wasn't going to happen. I did my first 5K in ages this afternoon, though.
    3. Minimise food waste. We are getting better but there are still soggy bananas and furry yogurt turning up.
    4. Read a chapter of the Bible daily - that's been helped a lot by finding a 'Bible in a year' app so I can listen while I knit. It falls down when I have a busy morning, though.
    5. Do some arm exercises daily. I did a few...
    6. Learn to machine sew and complete an item - not yet.
    7. Delete 100 emails a day when home (I have thousands). I managed it for several days but they're piling up again. I've un-subbed from some, though.
    8. Bed by 12.30 unless exceptional, e.g. work. Not going too badly though I've only made it by 12.30 a few times and some nights have been ridiculous, like staying up till 5 one night when DS was home for a night and I wasn't well enough to sleep so stayed talking, and last night when we had an adventure with our carbon monoxide detector going off, so I stayed up till gone three while the emergency gas person checked we were safe.
    9. Garden 2 hours a week. Come on, it's January. I think I've done about 20 minutes in total so far. (Did enjoy it though).
    10. Learn to knit with DPNs - that's waiting for the end of my current project.
So for the next month the list will be:
    1. Clean the fish!
    2. Run a 10K... or maybe an 8K?
    3. Minimise food waste - I have some lovely veg that will take planned cooking not to be wasted. I got one of the L!dl £1.50 boxes so there are still quite a lot of carrots, peppers, beetroot, a mango and a baking potato to use as well as celery I already had in and some fresh herbs which may already be past use. The fruit aspect of the veg box is mostly gone already though and things like bread and yogurt are proportionate to likely needs.
    4. Push on with the Bible app.
    5. Arm exercises... just do them!
    6. Machine sewing - probably not yet as there's a knitting queue.
    7. Emails - maybe 50 a day?
    8. Bed by 12.30.
    9. Garden half an hour a week.
    10. Knit with DPNs - February is the month!
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

    Fashion on the Ration 2025: Fabric 2, men's socks 3, Duvet 7.5, 2 t-shirts 10, men's socks 3, uniform top 0, hat 0, shoes 5 = 30.5/68
    2024: Trainers 5, dress 7, slippers 5, 2 prs socks (gift) 2, 3 prs white socks 3, t-shirts x 2 10, 6 prs socks: mostly gifts 6, duvet set 7.5 = 45.5/68 coupons
    20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/22
