We recently booked a holiday (pre Spain restrictions) and it now means our 13 year old cannot travel unless he is double vaccinated which we are not happy about.  Do we have grounds for requesting a refund due to the rules changing?

What aren't you unhappy about? Your child needing double vaccination or just the fact that the rules have changed?
He should be able to get his first dose in early new year.

Have a look at the terms and conditions of your booking, if he cannot been double vaccinated before the travel date then you may consider changing the dates or destination (depending on t&cs)
You could also read your travel insurance documents although many exclude government restrictions

Some travel firms are offering flexibility and allowing those travelling to Spain with teens to change their holiday or in some cases cancel with a credit.

I don’t believe there is any right to a refund however.

You have not provided details of who you booked with and if this is a package or a DIY trip.  This information is always helpful to allow for the best and whole responses.
  • Can you get your 13 year old vaccinated before travel?
Entry requirements are down to the traveller to satisfy - you wouldn’t be entitled to cancel / change due to this, but your travel provider may have a policy that will allow you to.

If they say no, you have no right to it though.
