I very much doubt the FCA would insist that a vulnerable person can just willy-nilly force a continued financial association on anyone.
If you enter a contract together, then you can't just dissolve that contract because you changed your mind about them.

It's mostly an issue if you have joint debts, but if there is a dispute about assets then the bank can't just take one persons word for it. Or are you saying they should confiscate any money left in an account, so that neither person gets it?

The terms and conditions on who has the rights to the money in the account are entirely clear. A dispute changes precisely nothing regarding those rights. Nobody ever suggested that the bank should confiscate any money, either. The terms are equally clear on who can close the account.

Anyway, as this is now a pretty circular discussion, I am out. The best of luck to the OP with their formal complaint, assuming one has actually been raised now.
You clearly do not understand just what a joint account dispute does to a account.
It is locked till both parties agree to closure for a reason.
Or as happened to OP > I checked the joint account and she had withdrawn all funds. <
Had the account been in dispute 1st that would not have happened.

Bank has no interest in spinning the matter out. They would rather it is sorted ASAP as it costs to keep these accounts open. But they have to cover themselves from legal action. If one parties empties the account without the other parties agreement once account is in dispute.

Just who do the bank give the £30 too? see above. They are not going to risk anything.

While I can understand why the OP does not want to engage with the other party. Times like this mean either they have too, or forget about the account. The bank could try to contact the other party. But if they have not updated their contact details that is a waste of time & they will not keep chasing them.

Thanks for all the comments. The complaint has been logged with Lloyds and the financial abuse team. I'll provide an update as soon as I hear back from Lloyds.
