My E-On Electricity account has suddenly changed to E-On Next - Does anyone know why?

Also, they are now wanting to bill monthly and not quarterly, I have never been in errors - who ever pays anything monthly apart from very low income households and debtors?

Why change?

I think you'll find that you're the outlier, most people seem to pay most of their recurring bills monthly.
Very low income households and debtors tend to end up trapped on prepayment meters which means they pay more than rich people on credit tariffs.

The only, paper, quarterly bill I now have is for water. That's only because I haven't bothered to change to paperless, because there is no meaningful competition in the water market, so I've never changed supplier.

Monthly billing is the norm, in energy, these days.

I agree with Gerry1. Who on earth pays anything other than monthly? gas, electric, water, council tax, tv licence, BT, Sky…you name it, all monthly!!
  • Do you not pay more per year if you pay your tv licence monthly by DD?

No idea!  Truly can’t be arsed to have to deal with it annually for what might be a quid or two.

No - TV license remains one of the strangely reasonable payment system in my opinion.

Nothing extra for paying monthly - although you do need to be paying 6 months in advance.  Then again you can do that for 6 months and then cancel (& get a refund for excess) and then start up again when your new rolling 12 months starts.

I'd love the utilities to do similar but the price of a TV license isn't quite so volatile!!

Wow!  So does this mean you never use a credit card?

If I multiply what they are charging monthly X 3 it is a lot more than I was paying quarterly - this appears to be a way to charge more money and they are thinking the customers are too silly to notice.
