But do they check? You can have a leccy car without having a charging point, just use the plug-in "granny cable" that charges slowly. So not having a charging point doesn't disprove anything.Their blurb says you can be in the process of getting one, so they can't be checking V5s. Everyone is probably in the process, my current car gets older every day and when it stops working I'll probably be getting one. This may be in 10 years, but this process has already started.0

Conversely, I suspect that there are many houses around now where they have a charging point (left by previous occupant) but no EV.1

No question about an EV, but I did mention it unprompted because they have a fairly strong narrative to their script to try to persuade you not to switch at the moment.QrizB said:wittynamegoeshere said:But do they check?Let's ask someone.@Petriix you're currently switching to Go. I've heard positive stories about Octopus honouring their previous rates for people who are mid-switch when they go up. Fingers crossed!1 -
I just thought I'd update you all to say that I phoned up and very easily switched to EDF on the capped SVT rate with no quibbles or questions asked. So until 31/3/22 I'm now capped at 21.6p/kWh elec and 4.197p/kWh gas (SW region). Good Energy prices for me from 17th January would have been 34.91p/kWh for Electricity and 8.68p/kWh for gas, so I'm happy with this outcome.5

Nice one! It’s definitely put me off ever going back to a green generator… which isn’t ideal2

I'm in bed asleep when the cheap GO rates are on plus I have a mobility scooter not a car and it uses around 3 kWh per week in charging it, that's just over £32 per year.Someone please tell me what money is0

Update from me. Moved away from GoodEnergy to EDF on their SVT at 20.7p/kW (London), for now. Good Energy prices for me from 17th January would have been 35.24p/kWh. Thanks all for your help.3
