Morning all
Lovely words Gers, I too want to add my thanks to everyone for your help and support, what a lovely bunch you are xxx
I am another one who has trouble sleeping I do take a sleep aid tablet from the chemist which do help, without them I toss and turn all night.
DD is off out for the night tonight with some friends, I would much rather stay in and have a nice meal and a few wines, we are having steak and chips tonight with a stilton stuffed mushroom, our dogs are always terrified of the fireworks too so will take them on a long walk to tire them out.
Will do a wash today as Jackie O always said not to do washing on new years day otherwise you will wash your luck out for the year, or something similar.
Have good days all xxx11 -
Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Gers and hugs to all those in need.
We won't see the new year in, never mind Jools, the last time time I saw the new year in it was Andy Stewart, there will be fireworks nearby but Beano will ignore them.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.10 -
Morning all... a friends birthday today so another friend is stopping off to pick up my presents to deliver [ maybe I'll get my car next week - saga and a half this] so once that's done and I've provided lunch of some kind, it'll probably be doing nothing but binge watching. We've been invited to places but neither of us want to go out and be merry, one, because of covid, two because of trying to get a taxi...So I will be taking a walk to Lidl in a bit to get a bottle of bubbly to toast the new year.Lovely words Gers, and others [ of course] , you've said it all. So thanks to you all for the rudder, the umbrella or the clapping, you lot are priceless. See you on the flip side....xNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning everyone
Lovely words from you all - you've all been such a support to me with all little ones problems and illnesses over the past year. She is doing well at the minute and hopefully will get the brain scan she needs soon. Although she protests every nap and bedtime she knows that she has to have the oxygen 'to keep me safe.'
It's her 3rd birthday on Monday and she is so excited as she is having a party with a bouncy castle - hoping Boris doesn't make any announcements to stop it going ahead.
DD is working today and tomorrow morning so little one is with me till tomorrow afternoon. My mam is coming up for her lunch with us while dad's carer is there and then I have a friend coming for a cuppa - while little one is hopefully napping! I'll be away to bed before midnight but no doubt will be woken up by fireworks .
Tomorrow I'll take little one down to wish mam and dad a Happy New Year.
Eldest DD is settled back home - she went for a test yesterday morning and for some shopping as she had no food - well other than chocolate! The rules in Germany are changing so she's now just in quarantine until 3rd January.
Better go ...little one is getting impatient.
Happy New Year to you all.....take care x11 -

Good afternoon all, Gers thank you for the lovely opening words. You are a lovely, caring bunch of people. Wishing everyone a Happy, healthy and peaceful New Year especially after the last two awful ones.
I guess we will have to stay up, DDog hates the fireworks, although we wonder if she is losing her hearing a little as she does not seem to be quite as stressed these days.
Apart from a visit from the family on Monday and a delish meal out with them Christmas has not been much fun, I had a heavy fall on Christmas Eve (slippery patch on brick drive), a series of annoying glitches with things and me having a very low mood - I think Mum's death has hit home somewhat belatedly, also that of DBIL.
I have skipped SM deliveries for 2 weeks and will pop out to Sains shortly for a few bits to keep us going.
Hugs and spoons, see you the other side. x

Afternoon everyone, sorry I am late to the table, we went into Melton to take some stuff to the charity shop,it was closed!! Collect a few bits from Aldi, fill the car with fuel, go to order the carpet for the bedroom, shop was closed as well. Bird seed from Wilko. DB collected his glasses and we went with DD2 to Greggs for some lunch.
We walked round the town back to the car, then found the shop that supports the air ambulance was open, so the stuff that was to go to Age Concern went there instead. I was very impressed with a new washing machine they had in there, a Montpellier? never heard of them before, very versatile in that you could do a quick wash and use various settings, all for under £300. I need to have a look on the tinternet and see what I can find out about them.
We are back home, about to have a cup of tea and catch our breath.
Gers, you are welcome my friend, you needed the support and we were only too glad to supply it. I really hope that 2022 will be a good year for you.
I gave in last night and took 2 tablets, woke about 1am sweating, but managed to drop off again, eventually woke about 8.30. We will not stay up, we used to go down to Princes Street when we lived in Edinburgh.......now I am afraid we retire to bed and listen to the fireworks, then settle down to sleep.
I hope 2022 is a good year for you all. Csarina.9 -

Hi everyone,
Just a very late one from me to wish you all a good evening and a Happy New Year. I've been busy Esben wrangling and we went out for a delicious late lunch - very socially distanced so we felt very safe.
See you next year.5 -
Happy New Year to you all, I’ve been a bit hit and miss posting. What comes across on each and every post is the support for others. Lovely words Gers.
I too appreciate the support you have given.I was supposed to stay at my older sons for new year but he wasn’t well on the day I arrived up north, so I ended up staying at my mums. Ds1 has since tested positive for Covid. So haven’t seen him.
will try and post more next year. Take care one and all.4
