Hi there
My partner has got a test back saying she has got Covid19 and needs to self isolate from today. I am not feeling great myself and have taken the day off work and am next due in New Year's day. I cannot cannot get a PCR test at a test site at the moment. I have asked one to be posted to me. However I start a new job on the 10th and I don't want to have to ring up and say I have to self isolate. If the test arrives tomorrow and I get it posted off in the morning does anyone know (or can give an educated guess) when I will get my results given the New Year holiday?
I am fully vaccinated and have had my booster about a fortnight ago
Thanks in advance

Somewhere between the 2nd and the 5th would be my guess, assuming not too much delay from royal mail. make sure its gets in a priority mailbox before the cutoff time. Pick one next to/near sorting office if you can. You'll know if the test is arriving tomorrow as yiu will get a tracked 24 notification by text later if you are.
No option to lateral flow in the meantime?1 -

Definitely post before the cut off tomorrow if it arrives to you, but there are no collections or deliveries Saturday or Monday, so unless there is a special arrangement for covid tests, it won't get to the lab until Tuesday at the earliest.
You should not be leaving home to get a lateral flow test from a chemist.
