Tenerife travel - Advice please

Hi, Hoping someone can help. I booked flights and airbnb for Feb 13th -20th for myself and my two kids (15 and 17) back in November. Now Tenerife require everyone over 12 to be double vaccinated I have a problem. My Youngest only had first vaccine mid December and isn't scheduled to have 2nd one until March. I'm awaiting info from GP as to whether we can get 2nd Jab early but if anyone has any advice of similar situation please share.

Ultimately, only those who are double jabbed can go, unless the rules change. All you can do is look at cancellation costs if you have no option - or leave the youngest behind.

You’ll either get the vaccine done in time, or the 15 YO can’t go. 

This won’t entitle you to a refund / cancellation as entry requirements aren’t a valid reason to request one.

Who are the flights with ? If you have booked flexible flights ( such as with British Airways or Eastjet ) you will be able to cancel and rebook a flight later in the year .

The Airbnb refund will depend on the T&Cs for the property you chose as there are different cancellation policies ranging from Non-refundable through to Flexible ( Guests can cancel until 24 hours before check-in for a full refund )

Some travel insurance policies (e.g Aviva ) say they will consider the claim if vaccination requirements changed from the time you made your booking and you can’t reschedule. 

So if you are unable to change the flights or get a refund for the accommodation, you can try a claim with your travel insurance- but it will depend on the T&Cs of your insurance provider .
