Faulty PS5 controller

I managed to get a PS5 for my son last July from a well known retailer. The controller has stopped working (tried different chargers and other advice online but definitely a fault)
I bought in store and have receipt. The store (very rudely) told me nothing they can do and go to Sony (where I am getting no where) I thought my contract was with the store/company I bought this from ?

It is but making a warranty claim with Sony is very easy and pretty quick.
You can go back and complain to the manager that because it.s less than 6 months from purchase the fault is deemed inherent at time of purchase and insist the deal with it or prove you wrong.
They will probably reluctantly agree but it will take much longer for them to deal with it.

My son just used it for the blue screen inherent fault, it was back in less than a week.1
