My aunt has a positive LFT test and awaiting results for PCR.
Now my grandmother, in her 90s, who has spent Xmas Day and another day with my aunt (her daughter).

How is anyone who lives alone, got severe arthritis and visual problems supposed to do the LFTs? My grandmother will struggle to rip the swab from pack, remove lid from solution and read the test strip.
We live 2 hours drive away so unable to help.

call the district nurse for assistance? get a neighbour to help?? does she have any carers that help daily/weekly that might go out in an emergency??
Is her daughter near by? If they've already spent time together lately possibly any "contamination" has already taken place.
If grandmother is relatively independent and is completely on her own then why does she need to do any testing? It's not like she will infect anyone and should she get ill then she can call for an ambulance/the doctor or district nurse."Never retract, never explain, never apologise; get things done and let them howl.”1 -
LFT's for close contacts are advisory and not mandatory.

You'll have to drive the 2 hours, and help.

You're a little late with this, as it was posted 9 days ago they would be at the end of their isolation period now.
