Morning all
Still grim out there but its definitely milder.
Terrorists are here today which to be honest I'm looking forward to. My goal is to start using a stick more but I know Im not ready to go it alone yet and the stick needs altering for my height which my fingers can't manage. Have a sinking feeling they want sign me off which means I need to get everything out of today.
Also get befuddled with days/dates this week. The weather girl Carol came up with a good word for it "Betwixstmas" Won't be celebrating new year as I I really don't have anything to celebrate but I will make it a day of sloth, bad tv, pjs and good food (again)
Yesterday I had my "go to" liver and bacon portion from the freezer so tonight I feel will be something fishy
Have a good day all

Morning all
Pouring with rain here as it seems to have been all week, we managed to get the dogs out to the beach yesterday and it stayed dry for the couple of hours we were walking, they both had to have a bath when we got back as they had both been in the sea and were covered in sand !
I am really loving this week between xmas and new year there is nothing pressing to do and I am really relaxing and watching loads of films and eating chocolate and crisps
Today though we have to go and take the wellies back that OH bought me they are beautiful knee high leather ones which are 100% waterproof but they are just a bit too tight for me and so are uncomfortable, im going to try and swap them for a bigger or wider pair, they will get a lot of use so they need to be right.
Salmon for dinner with some new potatoes and green beans so a nice light dinner, got to pop into Aldi on the way home for a few bits.
Have good days all xxx10 -
Good morning everyone,
Thanks for the thread nmlc. I hope your day at work goes okay and glad to see you’re feeling better.
I had a conversation with MIL yesterday. Got a few things off my chest (calmly) but she managed to make me feel worse and insulted my mother in the process! DH and I both had a bad night and are still talking about it today. Mustn’t dwell on it. Families eh?
DS2 will be 18 in January so we are planning a lunch for my side of the family. DH says we should also do something for his folks, so thinking minimal effort of cake, tea, prosecco here after our lunch out. More than I feel they deserve tbh.
Yesterday I cleared the ironing pile whilst watching several episodes of Delboy and Rodney. Popped to Ts for a couple of ingredients for leftover turkey and ham pie. It was delicious. Tonight will be turkey curry using the last of the meat.
I will be doing my tax return today – always dread it, but needs must.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning all, dark, gloomy & wet here, DDog got a very short walk & she was keener to get back in than me : DH has to call at work to supervise a delivery of tiles but the supplier will ring before they set off so it shouldn't take too long. I had thought I might pop into town while he was out but it's so miserable I'll not bother. We did get a few bits yesterday. I 'm cooking salmon fillet for tea with pil pil sauce, probably in the Remoska or IP Vortex, haven't done it in there before, but they're both helpful in cutting down use of the big oven - my energy monitor says I've gone over the weekly budget I set, not surprising really the time it was on on Xmas day.DS1 hasn't surfaced, he and DS2 had a night out last night with a group of mates - I did hear him come in very late. He's not a big drinker so he might have a bad head today!Had a message from my cousins wife, she's in bed with covid & feeling rather rough
I think I'll potter & do family history stuff at some point, I've got some old photos that need adding.Hope you all have a good day x

Afternoon everyone
Feeling a bit down in the dumps as eldest DD is on her way back to Germany - with a bundle of paperwork to prove she's allowed back in. She's having a really long day as it will be almost midnight when she gets home.
She went down to say goodbye to her granny and granddad this morning - always sad as she doesn't know when she'll next see them. I didn't go down as I've been coughing and feel like I'm going to be full of cold - done a lateral flow test and it's negative.
I have little one here for the day as DD is working - she wanted lunch at 11.30 and ate a tin of spaghetti hoops, grated cheese and a slice of toast - a lot for her - she's now fast asleep.
I've made a big pan of soup using lots of veg up, so I'm going to blend it and then hopefully get half an hour peace before she wakes up.
Miserable, dark and rainy here - I don't like having the lights on all day
Hope everyone has a good day x8 -
hello all, hope everyone's well. Back to work day for me but not too busy which is just as well as I wasn't really in the mood for it....regretting volunteering to cover the 'betwixtmas' week. Still, only a day and a half to go. Weather here was bloomin awful, wet and windy, hope that's going to subside soon. Quiet day food wise, chicken and rice for dinner. Need to sort the freezer out so thats on the to do list for the weekend.
Hope you all had a good day
