Molerat, I was not moaning at all about the change in the dates or the notification period. I have always been fully aware of the changes.
Some people on here always see the worst in posters!
I am just speaking personally. You go through life wondering what it will be like to actually reach pension age. And you keep monitoring that it is getting closer. You do your income forecasts/projections. You change them when the rules change.
So it is quite a life-event when it does finally arrive.
I am sorry if my original remark about the changes for women offended you.2 -
UPDATEHaving applied on line on 30 Dec, I have today received a letter from DWP.The letter is dated 30 Dec and confirms my State pension claim. Not only that, but it states that my pension will be £740.60 every 4 weeks (and so includes the April 2022 increase) and then goes on to say that my first payment of £714.15 (slightly less than 4 weeks) will be paid on X date, with the second payment of the full £740.60 being paid on Y date 'and every 4 weeks after that'.Really can't ask for more than that, although I expect that applications made by paper and snail mail may not be so straightforward.5

In my case, my birthday is after 6 April so all of my first payment will be at the new rate.0 -
Yes I have had it but I am not within 4 months of my state pension. My friend at work who deferred his pension for 5 years, is now 70 and wants to retire, he has requested an application form 3 times now and they never turn up. He’s very worried as he has handed in his notice and is in poor health. I tried to apply for my pension to see what happened and this is the message I got too? I suspect this is their attempt to delay any new applications coming in while they sort out the underpayments to thousands of female pensioners.0

Suggest he makes a formal complaint: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-work-pensions/about/complaints-procedureGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -

In view of no action after three requests he needs to make a formal complaint.
Even once he has managed to make the claim, it can take several weeks before it is dealt with and the pension brought into payment.0
