I was just wondering if anyone else had received a £30 cheque from Shell out of the blue? I was with Green when they went bust and we got moved to Shell but I didn't wait for an account to be set up and switched to British Gas as soon as the supplies were showing as having switched to Shell on the national database.

I've experienced the same delay as everyone else and didn't make any complaints to Shell, just a few enquiries about bills and a discrepancy with a closing meter read. Then before Christmas I received a cheque for £30 which the letter said was enclosed "as discussed". As I had no idea what it was for and it didn't match my credit from Green, I asked them on Facebook and they said it was a goodwill gesture due to a late final bill.

So that was a very welcome surprise. Thank you, Shell! Has anyone else been sent one?

I was in a sort of reverse situation. I switched to Green within hours of PfP going bust, to try to avoid the clutches of BG, and was then immediatedly SoLR'd to Shell, which I wasn't unhappy about. Shell seem to be handling a huge amount of SoLR work in an organised manner. I bet I won't be getting a cheque (unless I had some credit with PfP) from BG for the delay in my transfer completing because the PfP/BG part of the chain has not yet been settled.

I'm pleased somebody has had some New Year cheer!
