Water under the shower tray?

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, so before I get a plumber out I thought I'd check with you all
When I step into my shower I can hear water squelching under the shower tray. This is before I've ran any water. I've just noticed it today, but we have an ensuite so this shower hasn't been used for at least a week.
It's been slow to drain with no obvious cause for the last few months, maybe this has something to do with it...
I can't see any broken seals where water might have leaked in.
Is it normal to have water under your shower tray? Maybe a second tray underneath or something?? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

No. It is not normal to have water under the shower tray. Depending on the type of floor underneath, it could (will) result in timber rotting as well as being a source of mould.Either a seal has gone (in the drainage, or around the edge), or a pipe is leaking. If you have been using a plunger to clear a blockage, you might have forced some water out past a seal in the waste pipe. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
What you are hearing could be water remaining in the trap (normal) and the drain pipe (abnormal) if there is a blockage.
Investigate further with a second person standing in various parts of the shower tray while you listen for where the noise is coming from.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
Thank you very much both!!
I'll do some investigation0
