Holiday pay rules changed in 2020  does not make any  difference for a lot of people.
a weeks pay is the average of the previous 52weeks paid(less if not enough)

lets go with the full time is 32 days from the later post  that's 6.4 weeks for the full timer.

    22/7/2021 to end of year is 163 days so 6.4 * 163/365 = 2.86 weeks.

    As a 4 day a weeker that's 11.43 days

Xmas Close would use 4 of them (Jan closure  should come out of next years  but some places allow the short carry over)

What holiday has he taken since starting?

He took 4 days plus had one bank holiday and his boss asked if he wanted paid for his last 2 days, he hadn’t taken which he received in his new payslip, also there were 4 days missing which we presume are the xmas close days.

So, I am in full agreement with your figures getmore4less.

Thanks to all who gave help, much appreciated.

Many places including some very very large companies still depend on wall calendars or excel spreadsheets to manage holidays and other absences.  (I really really know this is true.)  So it may not be as simple as an employee logging on to the system to check.

But whatever system is being used the manager should be helping the individual manage.  And if this is a young individual or someone who is less able then the manager (and the parents) should be helping a little bit more.

Of course it would be good to know the details as we are making a lot of guesses at this point.

That is not allowed,  not something to argue about if he was happy to just get it paid.

Needs to ask how the holiday allowance was calculated and make sure that is right looks a bit short if just 11days

It is allowed for any contractual holiday over and above the statutory minimum of 28 days and the OP said....

The company full holiday entitlement is either 32 or 33 days he can't remember.
