What is the spec and price of the laptop you got?
What is your daughter looking to use the laptop for?
What is the spec your daughter thinks she needs?
If they are only offering £30 back then it may be possible to boost the internals much more cheaply than getting a different one.

I sometimes find that people are more interested in bragging rights rather than getting a spec to do the job.

I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
