Hi all,
After my beloved Honda Jazz was written off in a car accident I'm on the look out for a new second hand car. Any recommendations? Mainly city driving but also UK motorway driving. Thank you.

Honda are very reliable and cheap enough to run. Kia i20 or i10 are priced well and surprisingly good little cars.
On the electric front there is the eUp, and the Fiat 500e. The Honda E is amazing but not cheap.
Did you have a budget in mind?1 -

..as above, budget is key, but in general I would go Japanese (Suzuki may be worth a look), and avoid French. Also may be worth considering a Skoda Fabia?....better still get another Jazz!

Thank you. I'm looking for less than 10k. Closer to 5k. Honda Jazzes are notorious for being targeted for their catalytic converter in recent times so that it making me nervous.0

Always worth typing your basic criteria in the search facility on "Autotrader" and see what comes up?.eg price, (eg 5-10k), type (eg saloon / hatch), engine size (eg under 1200cc), age (eg max 5 years), mileage, (eg max 30k), fuel (eg petrol), distance, (eg 50miles)...and see what comes up?In general Hyundai i10, Toyota Yaris, Suzuki Swift seem to be a popular choices?.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

I've had a Hyundai i10 from new, it's now nearly twelve years old.
It's been out of warranty for seven years and I've had no major problems with it, just wear and tear items (brakes/discs, etc) and servicing costs. Car tax is £30 a year.
I'd definitely have another one.
And three grown men can fit in the back (a bit of a squeeze but it can be done).2 -
If the cat wasn't stolen from your last Jazz, a new one won't be at any more risk. Of course there is some risk, but is it really enough to change your choice of car?1

Thank you. I have it narrowed down to a Honda Jazz 2009 at £4000 and a 2017 at £11,000 both with low mileage. Just trying to weigh up whether the extra £7k is worth paying for add ons and the fact that the c c is in the engine so impossible to nick.0
